Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes Monday 4th September 2017

Match Results

Congratulations must once again must go to Paul Coggins andeveryone involved with our Juniors as they recorded a third straight win in theJunior Football Championship against St Clarets on Saturday afternoon to leavethem heading into the Semi Finals as group winners. A strong performance fromthe outset and thanks to a Rory Jennings penalty, the lads went in at half timewith a lead on a score line of 1-6 to 0-6.

Despite a 2nd goal for the Gaels from LiamCunningham midway through the 2nd half, St Clarets got a goal oftheir own to put the pressure on the Young Guns. Thankfully, further pointedplays from Kieran Cunningham and Ryan Elliott saw the lads stay in control torun out winners. Best on the day for the Gaels were Rory Jennings, LiamCunningham and Brendan Rice.

Final Score: TCG Juniors 2-11 St Clarets 1-08

Fixture News

Both teams are in Championship action this coming weekend asour Juniors look to book a place in the Final once again while our Seniors arelooking to build on their win from Round 1. Please note changes to the timesand dates compared to what was previously advised.

Senior Football Championship Round 2 – TCG Seniors vs RoundTowers – Sunday 10th September @ 2pm – Greenford Pitch 1.

Please can everyone come out and support the lads in theseimportant games.

Club Reunion Oct‘17

We will host a reunion on Saturday 28th Octoberfor the teams from the early 90’s era. The 1992 Championship winning team willbe honoured on what will be the 25th anniversary of that victory.This is an open invite and it will be great to see as many old and new faces aspossible.
