Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes Monday 9th October 2017

Match Results

Congratulations to Lloyd and all of his Management team and players on their Semi-Final victory over St Kiernans yesterday afternoon in Ruislip.

After a slow start to the first half, scores from Killian Butler and Ryan Elliott kept the Gaels in the game, and thanks to a Killian Butler goal, the lads went in at half time trailing by the minimum on a score line of 1-05 to 1-06.

A determined and gritty 2nd half performance saw scores from John McGrath, Ryan Elliott and Liam Gavaghan before Killian Butler got his 2nd goal of the game to send the Gaels into the lead with 5 minutes remaining. Thankfully the lads held on to get the win and book their place in the Final.

Final Score: TCG 2-09 St Kiernans 1-10

Club Reunion Oct ‘17

Tir Chonaill Gaels will be hosting a 25 year reunion for players, management, committee members, club members and supporters from the early 90's era on Saturday the 28th of October in Greenford. The London championship winning teams from 1992 and 1993 will be honored a quarter of a century on from their achievements.

To reminisce, the club beat Parnells in the '92 decider before bowing out to Lavey in the all-Ireland quarter final. St Brendans were the opponents in the '93 final and Castlebar Mitchells narrowly beat us in the all-Ireland quarter final that year. The team was managed by PJ McGinley and the following players made up the panels in both years:

Ger Boyle, Michael Carr, Ciaran Gilhooley, Owen Bonner, Maurice Carr, Frank Devlin, Pascal Cullen, Steve Faulkner, Brendan Vaughan, Lar Molloy, Robert Henneberry, Tommy Maguire, Cormac McGarvey, Timmy McBride, John Duffy, Barry Bradley, Terence Gallagher, Gerry Foley, Jim O Neill, Sean Twoomey, Raymond Jackson, Conor Bradley, Seamus Carr, Colm McGleenan, Paul Hegarty, Barry Brennan, Frankie Devlin
