Club Notes - 19th May 2008
This weekend the club will stage our grand draw in the clubhouse at 9pm, Sunday.
The star prize car will be on show at Ruislip at the London/Sligo match.
Tickets will be on sale on the day around the ground from club members priced at £20 each or can be bought on-line at www.tirchonaillgaels.com
The senior team play Kerry Kingdom Gaels on Tuesday evening at Greenford in the Tipperary cup with a 7-15pm throw-in.
The Mc Ardle cup team played an entertaining game against the Cuchullians at Greenford last Sunday with the game ending in a draw.
This was the second game of the season for the Gaels after our previous draw against the Round Towers.
Noel Burke marshalled the young defence well with good support from debutants Ger Geraghty and Ben O’Mahony, while up front Kevin Mc Fadden and Aidan O’Connell done well. TCG 2-11, Cuchullians 4-5.
Next Fixture this Thurs 22nd May 7.15pm in Greenford against Garryowen.
The Reserve team travelled to Cambridge last Saturday for a friendly against the local Parnells team and had to work hard to win by a score of 1-9 to 1-6.
Many thanks to the hosts for the competitive match and for their hospitality afterwards and to loyal supporters Patsy and Pam Mc Govern on making the trip there to support the team.
Sevens Rugby Demonstration
On this Friday 23rd May there will be a sevens Rugby Demonstration at the club from 7-9pm everyone is welcome to attend.
On the 7/8th of June there will be a referees course in Ruislip for 14year olds and upwards. Times are as follows 7th – 10am-4pm and 8th 10am-1pm, anyone wishing to attend contact Karen Williamson on 07736805439.
Summer camp application forms are available from the clubhouse or from Sean McHugh 07899805507 or Jacqui Boylan 07795570165. The places for the camp are limited so please apply early for these. They will be run from the 27th -30th May.
Tir Chonaill Gaels ran a very successfully U10s blitz on Saturday with 15 teams taking part. The Gaels fielded 4 teams, thanks to Jim Rice, Vince Healy and Mary Coll for organising the blitz and looking after the teams. Many thanks to the minor board committee for helping out and giving up their time on the day.
The U12s played their first league game on Sunday where they lost to Tara’s U12. Many thanks to Declan Flanagan and Judy Butler for their help.
The U14s start their league campaign this Tuesday with a game against Dulwich Harps at 7pm in Greenford, please come along and show your support.
