Club Notes - 2nd June 2008
Summer Camp was held last week during half term and for a change the weather held out.
With over 50 children in attendance the camp was a great success, many of the children involved had never experienced Gaelic Football before and soon picked up on the basic skills and games. The presentations were held in the clubhouse on Friday night where awards were presented to all the children who took part along with individual awards in each of the three main age groups for most improved and best team player, an award was given to Ciara Rice for best player of the tournament well done to them all. The club would like to sincerely thank John Lacey, Chairman of Coaching and Development for attending and presenting the awards on the night. We would also like to thank all the club members, managers, players and parents whom without the camp would not be the continuing success it is. Lastly but by no means least Thank You to Kevin McFadden for organising and co-ordinating the games and coaches for the week.
Training will continue this week with the U14’s, U16’s & Minors on Tuesday and Thursday. The Nursery, U10’s, U12’s and girls training is on Friday at 7.30pm.
The Minor Board are holding a family BBQ on Saturday 28th June more details to follow soon.
The BOSS! (Bruce Springstein)
Last Friday a few Gaels members were spotted at the Emirates Stadium for the Bruce Springstein concert, namely Helena & the boys in the PIT!, Rick & Karen Williamson, Michael & Jacqui Boylan, but most noticeable was Stevie Keane in the crowd trying to regain his youth!! A great night was had by all.
