Club Notes - 20th October 2008

Senior Football Championship 2008 

Well done to the senior team on retaining their title in Ruislip on Sunday with a tight scoring game the boys held on well to bring home the silverware again. Thanks to Neasden Gaels for putting up a brave fight it was a great game of football watched by a good crowd. Thanks to Paul Coggins and Michael Kelly for all their hard work, along with the guidance of Paddy Carr. Thanks Adrian and all the staff at the clubhouse and to the club physio’s David & Colombo. Lastly thanks to everyone who turned out on Sunday to watch the game, your continued support is as always appreciated. (Full match report to follow)

Andy Duffy Memorial Match

There will be a challenge match for the Andy Duffy Memorial Cup against Red Hughs GAA club from Ballybofey, Co. Donegal on Friday 24th October 2008. The game will be played at 7.30pm under the floodlights, the club asks for all members to attend this important fixture. 

Gala Dinner

The club are holding a Gala dinner dance in the Crown Moran hotel, Cricklewood on Saturday 8th November to honour our first senior championship winning team of 1983. The event is a black tie affair with tickets priced at £65 or a table of ten can be booked for £650. U18’s 

The Minors met Parnells on Sunday in Ruislip in the Championship semi final after a great game of end to end scoring the game ended a draw with a replay in 2 weeks. 

U16’s 

The U16’s met Glen Rovers of Hertfordshire in Watford on Saturday at in the Gt Britain Championship Semi Final and ran out as convincing winners they now meet Roger Casements of Warwickshire in the final next Saturday at 2.00pm, Good Luck to Noel & the Boys. 

Presentation Night 

The Minor board held their underage presentation night last Friday which was a huge success with all teams very well presented and each age group receiving their medals and individual trophies for players of the year. (Names will appear next week) also thank you to all the Parents who attended.
