Club Notes - 27th October 2008

Andy Duffy Memorial Cup

The club retained the Andy Duffy memorial cup last Friday evening under the floodlights against Red Hughs Gaa club from Donegal.

Following our success from the previous weeks championship win it was a make shift team with some of the veterans of years gone by making an appearance along with some of the upcoming stars.

The club would like to thank The Red Hughs Club for taking part in the game and in honouring our late chairman’s anniversary.  

Bon Voyage

Best wishes to a number of players who have left the club to go on their travels following our championship win last Sunday week.

Adrian McGeehan has gone to Australia, Tommy Moriarty, Connor Burke and Jason Mullarkey have gone to New Zealand while Andy Gallagher has landed in Perth Western Australia. 

Dinner Dance

There are still tickets available for our gala dinner dance on Saturday 8th November in the Crown Moran Hotel, Cricklewood. Tickets can be purchased for £65 from the club house (02088643494). Tom Mohan 07710307137 or Stephen McLoughlin 07788723922. Dress black tie.  

Gaels Hurlers

Congratulations to Fergus McMahon, Kevin Downes, Dan Mc Cusker and Andy Hayes on winning the London Senior Hurling championship last Sunday for the Robert Emmetts against Sean Traceys.  

Reserve Team

The reserve team had another walkover in the championship against St Brendans. We are now in the final against Fulham Irish. Date to be confirmed.  


The minor team play in the championship semi final replay this Sunday 2nd November against the Parnells in Greenford 2.30pm.  

U16’s Great British Champions

History was made in Birmingham on Saturday when Tir Chonaill Gaels U16’s retained their title for the third year in a row, twice under the guidance of Rick Williamson and this year with Noel Geraghty as the manager. Well done to Noel and all the lads and everyone who travelled to watch the game Thanks to all.
