Club Notes - 10th November 2008

Celebrity Bainisteoir

On Saturday evening past, the identity of the celebrity manager was revealed when comedian/TV presenter Patrick Kielty walked into the dressing rooms to a warm welcome from the players and committee.

For the past few weeks their has been various people named to who would be the manager with Graham Norton and Darragh O’Brien being leading candidates.

Without doubt Kielty is a fabulous catch with his experience playing minor football with his native Down back in the late eighties, he didn’t hang about with the introductions as sent the team out into the rain for their first training session.

Assisting him for the programme will be London born Paul Hehir who will do some training sessions with the next two being this Wednesday and Thursday.

Any club members who are available on Wednesday evening or Thursday during the day are welcome to come down to Tir Chonaill Park to watch the recording.

Gala Dinner Dance

As get together’s go this was a great night for the club in assembling the 1983 championship winners for a celebration dinner in the Crown hotel in Cricklewood last Saturday evening.

There were many memories to recall and stories to re-invent as the old boys got together for the first time in twenty five years for many of them.

A full story of the night’s events and photos will appear on our website later on in the week on www.tirchonaillgaels.com

The reserve championship final was postponed last Sunday due to the pitch being unplayable, check local papers or website for new fixture.
