Club Notes - 1st December 2008

Reserves

The reserve team retained the championship last Sunday against Fulham Irish in a mud bath at Greenford. Again it was the combination of youth and experience that paved the way for the Gaels to win their third title in a row and their fifth in six years. It was like going back ten years as the veterans of championships past pulled out the stops to win by a score of 1-8 t0 2-4.

Many thanks to all of the old boys who pulled the boots off the six inch nails and blew away the cobwebs, Noel Burke, Stevie Keane, Micky Kelly and David Cannon were solid in defence while the attack was well lead by Stevie Mc Loughlin, Damian Gillispie, Niall Quinn, JP O’Donnell, Barry Mc Donagh and the two grandpa’s Maurice Carr and Paul Coggins.

Well done to the young lads who were winning their second and third titles at a young age, Ciaran Nash, Stefan Carr, Ben O;Mahony, Liam Mullan and Jerome Lawson showed great fighting spirit.
