Club Notes - 30th March 2009

Seniors
The seniors got their season up and running last Sunday with a victory over Tara in the Tipperary Cup. Both teams lined out weakened sides with the Gaels fielding eight players from their underage setup with a few older experienced players making up the team. Ger Geraghty and Jerome Lawson making their senior debuts put in good solid performances with good support from Stevie Boyle, Kevin Downes, Ricky Williamson and Tommy Moriarty.
Final Score TCG 0-9 Tara 0-6.

Fixtures
The McArdle Cup team have their first game of the season this Sunday against Robert Emmetts at Greenford with a 2pm throw in. All support welcome. 

International Seven’s
The draw was made last Sunday for the Easter seven’s, check are website and local newspapers for the draw. www.tirchonaillgaels.com

Underage Registration / Training Evening - Friday 3rd April
Registration for all age groups – Nursery upwards – will take place at 7.30 p.m. at the Clubhouse, Greenford this Friday night, 3rd April.  There will be a “Come and Try” Fun Training Session for Nursery, U10, U12 and Girls.  Any new players interested in joining the club at underage level are more than welcome to attend.  New Joiners only are requested to bring with them two passport sized photographs together with their original birth certificate to register.  Details can be found on the website - www.tirchonaillgaels.com

TCG Girls
Thank you to all the TCG Girls who turned out for the London Blitz on Saturday and especially to Lisa Redmond and Rick Williamson for managing/coaching them.  Girls are reminded that a Registration and Training Session will be held at the club grounds on Friday 3rd April.  Any new girls wishing to try out are welcome to attend.

Peter McGlynn Tournament
The Peter McGlynn Memorial Tournament will take place at Greenford on Saturday 9th May.

Wedding Bells
The club would like to wish senior goalkeeper Brian McBrearty and his fiancée Caroline all the best as they tie the knot this Saturday in Donegal. 

Skool Disco
The Paris to Geneva cycle team would like to thank all the people that turned up to the skool disco last Saturday night in the club house. A great night’s craic was had by all with the highlight being Bernard (Beano) Collins and Maurice (Doris) Carr going head to head in the egg and spoon race with Beanos superior fitness getting him over the line by a moustache. Photos of the night will be on the website shortly. All proceeds went to the Stroke association.
