Club Notes - 6th April 2009

International Sevens

This Saturday the club hosts its annual Easter sevens tournament at Greenford with the group games starting at 12 noon

Last years finalists Michael Breathnach (Galway) and Glenswilly (Donegal) are again taking part with new comers the Royal College of surgeons from Dublin making their debut. Hot food will be served all day with breakfast starting at 9.30am.

After the competition there will be a presentation with a live band and disco to follow.

On the day there will also be a ladies tournament, so here’s hoping for the weather to be kind to us and all to have an enjoyable day.

* Please note teams who are participating are asked to register no later than 11am. 

Mc Ardle Cup

Congrats to the McArdle cup team who started off their campaign with a convincing win over the Robert Emmetts with a eight point victory. Star of the day was Chris Maroney who clocked up a personal scoring tally of 0-11. 

Good Friday

Any club members who are at a loose end on Good Friday are asked to come down to the club and pull their weight as we  prepare for the sevens tournament.

Underage Registration / Training  Evening - Friday 24th April

There will be a further Registration Night for all age groups - nursery upwards – at the club on Friday 24th April, together with a Fun Training Session commencing at 7.30 p.m. for Nursery, U10’s, U12’s and the TCG Girls. Any children wishing to try out are welcome to attend on this night. 

Peter McGlynn Tournament

The Peter McGlynn Memorial Tournament will take place at Greenford on Saturday 9th May. Any U12 Teams wishing to take part in this tournament should contact Noel Geraghty (Chairman) on 07956803389.  There will also be a Girls Tournament running on this day and any girls teams wishing to compete should contact Lisa Redmond on 07817602342 or Maureen Vaughan – rodgersvaughan@aol.com  

May Summercamp

The May Summercamp will run from Tuesday 26th May to Friday 29th May inclusive.  Parents wishing their children to attend the camp are requested to e:mail Maureen Vaughan on rodgersvaughan@aol.com as numbers will be limited. Any parents who are able to volunteer to help out at some point during the week are also asked to forward their availability details to Maureen. 

The Club would like to wish all its members a Happy and Holy Easter Season.
