Club Notes - 20th April 2009

Seniors

The senior team played in the second round of the Tipperary cup last Saturday against Fulham were they went down to a score of 2-8 to 1-7.

Playing with very much an under strength team the Gaels had enough chances in the first half to be half a dozen points up but went in at the break a point down after squandering a load of chances.

In a tight second half the game could have went either way with the Gaels missing a penalty but it was Fulham who took their chances.

Credit to manager Paul Coggins who was able to put together a team of Geriatrics to gel in with the up and coming stars and do the club proud.

Mc Cardle Cup

The Mc Cardle cup team had their second outing of the season on Sunday at Greenford and continued on from their last performance with a convincing win over Bros Pearses. Again missing a number of regulars the club were able to dig deep into the underage set-up and come away with a 1-14 0-3 victory.

Best on the day were Ricky Williamson and Ger Geraghty in defence, Sean Butler and Gavin Mc Evoy in midfield and Liam Mullan up front.
