Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes 3rd August 2009

Seniors

The senior team ended Fulham Irish interest in the championship last Sunday with a convincing 0-11 to 0-8 victory at Ruislip.

Paul Coggins troops are starting to move through the gears at the right time and knocking out one of their main challengers will have boosted confidence.

Paddy Callaghan was solid as a rock as full back with good support from Ronan Walsh and Shaun Campbell. Gary McCloskey won his fair share in midfield, while up front Kevin McMenaman showed his class with some excellent scores.

In the other game in the group St Brendans beat Parnells 0-8 to 0-6 to go through with the Gaels to the semi’s.

The Gaels will play St Brendans in the final group game to decide who finishes top on the weekend of 15th/16th August.

Minors

Well done to all the Gaels lads who were beat by one point for London in the Intercontinental championship Final in San Francisco last Friday.
