Provincial chief welcomes Railway Cup decision

10 September 2009

Tadhg Meehan is delighted that the 2009 Railway Cup football final is being played in London.

The interprovincial decider will go ahead in the UK capital on Sunday November 8, preceded by a special gala celebration in the Emerald grounds in Ruislip the previous night, and the Provincial Council of Britain secretary is looking forward to a historic weekend:

"We, of course, are delighted to have the Railway Cup football final over here for the first time.

"While finals in both football and hurling have been played abroad before, it's the first time that a Railway Cup one has been played in Britain.

"Already, there's been huge interest for the gala night and we know that regardless of who reaches this year's final it'll be a fantastic weekend
