CLG Na Cealla Beaga opening Eamon Byrne Memorial Park

29 April 2010

CLG Na Cealla Beaga is proud to announce the opening of our new development in Fintra, Killybegs Co. Donegal on Saturday the 15th of May 2010 at 2pm.

The Eamon Byrne Memorial Park is named after Eamon Byrne, who died at the very young age of 32 years, while playing for Killybegs in a senior league match in Ballyshannon in June 1988. Eamon who hailed from County Wicklow came to Killybegs in the early seventies and over a fifteen year period he gave outstanding service to the Killybegs club, playing football and hurling for many years. Eamon also played hurling for the Donegal Senior team in the early eighties.

There will be two football matches played on the day; Killybegs will play Tir Chonaill Gaels of London, followed by a Senior Inter-county game between Donegal and Leitrim.
The field will be officially opened by Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Christy Cooney at 2pm.
A large crowd is expected due to the relationship between Tir Chonaill Gaels and Killybegs, as well as the interest in the Donegal and Leitrim county teams.

CLG Na Cealla Beaga would be delighted for any assistance you can give in publicizing this special event. If a member of your staff is available to attend on the day, they are more than welcome to help us celebrate the event.
(If you let us know you are coming we can ensure that you are accommodated as best we can)
