Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes 27th September 2010

This weekend the club have two fixtures; on Saturday 2nd October the Junior team
have a league match against the Garryowen at Greenford with a 3.30pm throw-in.
On Sunday the senior team play their final league match against Saint Brendans also
at Greenford with a 12.30pm throw-in, all support much appreciated for both of these

Well done to the reserve team on reaching their second final of the season after
defeating Fulham Irish in the semi final of the championship at Ruislip on Saturday.
The first half saw the Gaels play some excellent football with fast ball going into the
forward line but a lapse in the final five minutes of the half let the opposition back
into it.
A half time talk from the legendary Paul Coggins pumped up the boys and the second
half proved to be an exhibition of football with some excellent performances.
Philip Butler making his debut at corner back never gave his man an inch along with
Ger Geraghty and Noel Burke superb in defence.
The Veterans Barry Mc Donagh and JP O’Donnell along with the talented youngster
Clive Mills were always dangerous up front.
Also making their debut on the day were Cormac Mc Garvey, Michael Mc Guinness
and Donal Geraghty who used the ball well when introduced.
The final will be played on Sunday the 10th October at Ruislip, final score TCG 1-11,
Fulham Irish 0-5.

Birthday Wishes:
The club would like to pass on our best wishes to JP “Mutt” O’Donnell who
celebrated his 30th birthday in the club last Saturday night.
