London Donegal Session

Notice to the 'Donegal Diaspora' and all those who love the sound of traditional music Co. Donegal!!

A new session is starting up in Camden Town to promote music 'from' Donegal, 'commonly played' in Donegal, or 'strongly associated' with musicians from Co. Donegal.

... a 'home from home' - Think Altan, Fidil, John Doherty, James Byrne, the Campbells - and lets not forget Danny Meehan, recently returned home to Donegal after years playing around London.

1st session Saturday 20th November 9 - 11pm @ The Old Eagle, 251 Royal College Street, Camden Town, London NW1 9LU.
Kindly hosted by the publican Belfast man Jimmy McGrath.
After that 2nd Sat every month 8-11pm.

The Old Eagle is easy walking distance from Camden Town Tube, Camden Road overground Rail and Kentish Town tube.
Plenty of buses including night buses.

We're looking forward to a regular 'fix' of Highlands, Barndances,  Mazurkas, Marches etc
- & of course The Old Eagle is looking forward to increased sales of Guinness & Jamesons!

It'll be great to meet up with friends, old & new, who have a love for both Donegal and traditional music

Look forward to meeting you, hearing any musicians out there who have Donegal tunes or songs to share; and together we can promote Donegal in London.
Up Donegal!

Please support this in any way you can, spread the word etc.

Go raibh mile maith agat :-)

Future updates in terms of changes of dates, times, venue &/or extra events - or special guests will be posted on the internet.
