Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 22th November 2010

Seniors:
Last Saturday the senior team retained their league title after a convincing win over
Saint Kiernans at a sticky Greenford.
It was a great finish to the season after the disappointment of going out of the
championship at the semi final stage, but with two trophies collected for the team’s
efforts it was not a bad year’s work.
On the day the work rate was superb with every player doing their bit, from keeper
Brian Mc Brearty who pulled off a great save in the dying seconds to the full forward
line lead by an on fire Liam Gavaghan.
The triumphant team was Brian Mc Brearty, Damien Donnellan, Paddy Callaghan,
Gerard Geraghty, Niall Travers, Connor Beirne, Austin Concannon, Brendan Friel,
Gavin Mc Evoy, David Mc Greevy 0-1, John Collins 0-1, Gary Kane, Kevin Mc
Menamin 0-2, Liam Gavaghan 0-6 & Kevin Downes; subs Stephen Boyle, Ronan
Walsh, Clive Mills & Benny Quinn. TCG 0-10 St Kiernans 0-5

After the game manager Maurice Carr announced that he was stepping down from his
position and thanked the team for their efforts and commitment.
On behalf of the club we would like to thank Maurice for his contribution to the
team’s success over the year and the huge effort and time he has put in.

Poker Classic:
The club held a successful poker classic last Saturday evening hosted by the
Ladbrokes poker team.
The event started at 8.30pm and went onto 1.30am with Old Poker face himself
Maurice Carr pulling off a shock, defeating Peter “cucumber” Clifford in a good
night’s entertainment.
Many thanks to all of the players for their support and to Brian Coleman and the
Ladbrokes team on a well run event.
