Club Notes - 8th Oct 2007

Senior Football - County Final

The last eight months of training for our senior team all comes down to this Sunday were we do battle with the KKG in the Championship final at Ruislip.

Without a doubt this has been the target since we last won it in 2005 and preparations have been going well apart from the injuries to Stephen Boyle and Dave Cannon.

Managers Maurice Carr and Paul Coggins have asked for all club members to turn out on Sunday to cheer on the boys and hopefully bring home the bacon. Throw in for the Senior match is 3.45pm.

Minor Football

On the same bill, our Minor team go out to make a little bit of history by trying to win five championships in a row. The opposition comes from Saint Kiernans who will make it very difficult for us as we always have had ding dong battles over the years. Throw in for the Minor match is 12 noon.

U21 Football

Well done to the Under 21 team who last Saturday started their defence of the championship with a convincing 4-20 to 0-8 win over the Parnells.

Fielding a strong team the Gaels put in a professional performance with solid games from Dom Tully, Aaron Somers, Connor Burke, Tommy Moriarty and Kevin Kennan.

U 16 Football

The Under 16 bandwagon keeps rolling on with victory in Birmingham last Saturday against St Benedict’s from Leeds in the British semi final. TCG 5-17, Benedicts 1-4

This season the boys have in outstanding form and are now one game away from retaining the title with a tricky tie against the Glen Rovers from Hertfordshire. The game is scheduled for this Saturday at Ruislip with a 4-30pm throw-in.
