Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 7th March 2011

The club hosted its first National League game on Saturday with Longford beating a
committed London team by 1-14 to 0-08. Well done to club players Brian McBrearty,
Stephen Boyle, Martin McCoy and John Collins on a great effort. Credit must go also
to club members in getting the pitch ready for this fixture.

Congratulations to club chairman Tom Mohan who on Friday evening in Donegal
was honoured by the Donegal County Board for his continuous hard work within the
GAA overseas. Tom had very little time to celebrate as he was back in Greenford for
Saturday afternoon to play host to the St Nauls club who played for the Andy Duffy
cup. In a well contested game with St Nauls looking the much sharper team, they
eventually won by 1-09 to 1-07.

This was the first outing of the year for the new management team of Michael Kelly,
Kevin Downes and JP O’Donnell and it was a great opportunity to blow away some
cobwebs. It was great to see past TCG player Brendan Mc Creedy who won a senior
championship medal in 1990 still playing the game.

Happy Birthday Patsy
Over the weekend our life president and club member Patsy McGovern celebrated his
80th birthday. We want to thank Patsy and his good wife Pam for all their great work
over the years and long may it continue. Happy Birthday Patsy!!
