Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 28th March 2011

The club regret to announce the untimely deaths of Leonard Byrne (21st March) and his wife Mary (22nd March), father and mother of club member and social club manager Adrian.
It is with great sadness that we bring you this terrible news, all within the Tir Chonaill Gaels club pass on our deepest sympathy to Adrian and the Byrne family.
The deceased both hailed from the Glencolmcille parish and they were both buried together last Friday at St Columba’s Church in Glencolmcille.

The club also learned last week that former player Brendan Flanagan passed away after battling against a long illness. Brendan played for the club in the early eighties and was a member of the first senior championship winning team back in 1993. Brendan was a gentle giant and was always the last man to turn up for matches. He would arrive two minutes before throw in and wonder what all the panic was about. The club would like to offer its condolences to his sisters, Maureen, Bernie and his brother Kevin and all his family and friends.
May they all Rest in Peace.
