Tir Chonaill Gaels Minor Board Notes - w/c 20th June 2011

U8 & U10 Blitz
The U8 and U10 teams had and enjoyable day. U8 saw some excellent play, working very well together whilst the U10's had some stiff opposition but fought back hard. Well done to all the players and also many thanks to the parents who helped out at short notice on what was a very wet and miserable day.
U10s travel to Coventry this Saturday 25th June where they have been invited to play in a U10 Blitz as part of the celebrations taking place that day in opening the new Roger Casements pitch. Our Senior Team will officially open the new pitch with a match against Roger Casements.

Well done to the lads who played against St Kiernans on Wednesday evening. Every player contributed to an excellent team performance with good football and hard work which brought us a well deserved win over a good St Kiernans team.

GB 7s  - Birmingham
Well done to all the lads and parents for arriving on time to the start of a top days gaelic football in Birmingham. Grouped with Clubs from Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Luton, our  U12 boys were lively from the start, settling into the games and played extremely well as a team with subs coming in and out in good humour.  Winning all their games and coming top in their group the boys went on to play Tara's in an exciting Semi-Final.  At the end of normal time it was a draw. 1-1 to 1-1.  As they played  into extra time, the first half ended in a draw 2-1 to 2-1. Tara's got a goal and a point in the second half of extra time to secure their win. It was neck and neck all the way and both teams playing very good football. Well done to the Tara team who went on to beat St Kiernans and win the final. After drying off we headed for home via KFC. Sincere thanks to Paul Redmond, James McFadden and John O'Regan for all their driving and support on the day, b
ut the final credit has to go to our lads who gave a great account of themselves on the day - Luke Campbell, Michael Garaza, Ryan Healy, Christopher McFadden, Dillon McGovern, Daniel O'Connor, Ruairi O'Connor Harte, Thomas O'Regan, Kevin O'Shea and Conor Redmond.

The U14 team travelled to Mitcham to play Round Towers in a League Match on Saturday.
