Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 20th June 2011

This Saturday the club make the journey to Coventry to be part of the official opening of the Rodger Casements new pitch.

Our under 12 team take part in a mini blitz from 11am onwards with the seniors playing Rodger Casements at 4.30pm. Their will be presentations afterwards followed by music and dance. Any club members wishing to be part of the occasion can contact secretary Stephen Mc loughlin for more details.

The seniors had a comfortable League win last Tuesday 14th against Tara. Slow to start and missing some early opportunities the lads got on top in most areas and came out easy winners in the end. 6-11 to 0-06. It was a great all round team performance with special mention for Niall Travers, Mark Gottsche, Damien Housten and John Mc Grath.

The junior team have a game this Thursday 23rd at Greenford with a Mullarkey cup tie against Saint Josephs. Throw-in is at 7-15pm, all support welcome.

Cycling Legend:

The club would like to congratulate former player Frank Glynn who has competed in a cycle tour of Motala in Sweden. Frank who has spent the last number of years riding all over the world said this challenge has been his hardest to date as he has never had to ride through the entire night before. We salute him for his heroic efforts at his age.
