Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 8th August 2011

The replayed Conway cup semi final against St Kiernans was played last Thursday at Ruislip with the Gaels on the wrong end of a 2-9 to 1-9 result.

Best on the evening were Kevin Mc Menimen and Brendan Friel.

On Sunday it was back to the league with another encounter against Parnells with the team getting revenge after their previous meeting last weekend in the championship.

There were encouraging performances from Martin Mc Coy, Owen Magean and Brendan Friel. Final score TCG 2-10, Parnells 0-7.

The reserve team opened their championship campaign against Fulham Irish last Sunday with a 0-12 to 0-6 defeat. Although fielding a weakened team the Gaels fought hard with failed to take their scores up front and were beaten by the better team on the day. Well done to Liam Gill, Brendan Mc Atarnsay, Stocker and Enda for their efforts.

The junior team qualified for the championship semi final after a hard earned win over the Robert Emmetts at Ruislip.

With this being their first season in the championship the lads have started to gel well together and are started to show real promise and could still yet prove to be the dark horses. Final score1-8 to 0-5. Best on the day were Tommy Moriarty, Liam Mullan and Ryan Fortune.

The senior team play the KKG in the championship this weekend.
