Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes 24th October 2011

Reserves:
Congratulations to the Reserve team on retaining the league after a hard fought victory over Fulham Irish last weekend at Greenford.
Having the task to maintain the clubs proud record of having won a trophy every year since 1995, the lads went in at half time trailing by three points but came out with all guns blazing in the 2nd half to win the match by a scoreline of 2-6 to 1-4.
It was a great team performance with special mention for Vivian Browne who was outstanding between the sticks with a penalty save at the death, Philip Butler solid in defence, Keith Morrow and Kevin Downes for their huge work rate in the middle of the park and up front veterans Mc Donagh and Quinn with great support from Brendan Scanlon.
After the game an emotional captain Benny Quinn recieved the cup and thanked manager JP O'Donnell for picking him and to fellow Mountcharles club men Keith Morrow and Michael Mullan on making it a double after their home clubs Donegal Intermediate championship win.

Race Night:
The club are holding a fundraising race night in the Gallery bar and restaurant in 407-411 Hendon Way this Friday 28th October with a 8pm start.
There will be food served on the night with a disco to follow, all members who have not received a race card can do by contacting club secretary Stocker on 07788 723 922. It should be a good night’s craic and all members are requested to attend.

Charity Cycle:
Some club members are taking part in a charity bike ride next year. They are doing the "Euro City" bike challenge. It starts on Wednesday 5th September 2012 from London and finishes in Brussels on Saturday 8th September, then returning to London via euro star on Sunday 9th September. It’s a 300 mile cycle over four days taking in London-Harwich-Amsterdam-BredaOn Saturday 27th October 2012 the club is hosting a banquet in the Crown Moran Hotel to help celebrate the club 50th. We are asking those present and past members if they have any old achieves such as photos, press cutting or video to please contact secretary Stephen McLoughlin (07788 723922. Chairman Tom Mohan (07710 3071370) or club PRO Stevie Keane (07950 262609 and we would arrange to get them from you and back to you safely. We are planning on doing a 50th book and these would be a massive help to us. Those interested in going to the banquet please contact us to reserve your seat-Brussels. You can do it for whatever charity you wish. If you are interested please get back to Stephen Mc Loughlin on 07788 723 922 and he can get the details out to you.

Under 21s:
The under 21 team have a championship semi final game against Harlesden harps on Saturday 5th November, for more details contact managers Michael Cunningham 07746463205 or Noel Geraghty 07956803389

Xmas Party:
The club will hold their Xmas party on Saturday 10th December at the clubhouse, more details to follow close to the date.

Andy Duffy Mass:
The club held an anniversary mass for our late chairman Andy Duffy last Friday night at the clubhouse and we would like to thank everyone who attended for the special occasion.

50th Anniversary:
On Saturday 27th October 2012 the club is hosting a banquet in the Crown Moran Hotel to help celebrate the club 50th.
