Carr denies Offaly link

Carr denies Offaly link

11 November 2011

Paddy Carr
Paddy Carr has pour cold water on reports that he is set to become an Offaly football selector.

Carr, who recently stepped down as Kilmacud Crokes manager, was expected to take up a selector's position in the new Faithful County management team, which will be headed up by Gerry Cooney. Former Clara and Offaly footballer James Stewart has already been confirmed as one of Cooney's selectors, but Carr insists he won't be taking up a similar role.

"I don't have a formal position with Offaly. Obviously I know Gerry Cooney very well. I played club football with him and we speak regularly, but I'm not an Offaly selector," the former Louth senior and Meath minor manager told the Irish Independent.
