Connolly to spearhead Tir Chonaill title charge
TIR CHONAILL GAELS have entrusted Timmy Connolly with the task of bringing the London SFC title back to Greenford for the first time in three years.
Connolly has been appointed manager of London’s most successful senior football club for 2012, as they aim to win their 14th crown in what is a significant season for the club.
This year is Tir Chonaill Gaels’ 50th in existence and they’ll be eager to return to the summit of London football after a disappointing championship campaign in 2011, which saw them fail to progress from their group following defeats to Parnells and Kingdom Kerry Gaels.
Connolly will manage the team this season with support from selectors Kevin Downes and JP O’Donnell. A native of Antrim, Connolly had plenty of success with Tir Chonaill Gaels during his playing career and was a member of the Antrim senior football panel for seven years.
