Club Notes - 19th November 2007
The Senior team’s winning streak continued last Sunday in the Conway cup quarter final against the Parnells. Playing with a number of the reserve team the Gaels had to work hard to defeat a determined Parnells by a score line of 0-10 to 1-5.
Tommy Moriarty, Peter Mooney, Fergus Mc Mahon and Niall Quinn all put in great efforts with a special mention for Gavin Mc Evoy and Connor Burke who were playing their second game of the day and showed their superior fitness.
The semi final is down to be played this Sunday against Fulham Irish at Ruislip with a 12-30pm throw-in.
This Sunday the Gaels will have an eye on the Ulster club final were All-Ireland Champs Crossmaglen play former winners Saint Galls from Belfast.
The winners come to Ruislip on the 20th January for the quarter final.
The reserve team booked their place in the league final after a gritty performance against Fulham Irish in the semi final played at Greenford on Sunday.
Again it was the mixture of youth and experience that worked a treat, with minors Kyle Hogan in goals, Kevin Mc Fadden, Stefan Carr and Ricky Williamson having excellent games well supported by Noel Burke, Barry Mc Donagh, Gavin Mc Evoy and the hard working Connor Burke.
For the record, veteran of veterans Maurice Carr picked up his “8th” booking of the season and he is by no means a dirty player! TCG 2-7 Fulham Irish 1-4.
The club would like to give their best wishes to Karen and Ricky Williamson who at long last are going to celebrate their 40th birthdays! in the club on Saturday.
