The senior team chalked up their second win of the new season with a nine point victory over Kingdom Kerry Gaels in round two of the Tipperary cup.
The KKG started the sharper team scoring 1-1 in the opening minutes with goalkeeper Brian Mc Brearty pulling off a couple of fine saves but as the game wore on the Gaels came into their own.
Leading at half time by a score of 1-5 to 1-1 the Gaels put together some excellent moves with Eoin Magean, John Mc Grath and Dualtach Molloy standing out.
The defence as a whole kept things tight with Ciaran Boyle in Midfield having another steady game. Final score TCG 2-9, KKG 1-3:
It was back to winning ways for the junior team in Greenford last Saturday against Dulwich Gaels in round two of the Mc Ardle cup.
The young guns are maturing well now, playing for the second season at this level and showing great signs of improvement. The second half was a great exhibition with the lads holding onto procession for long periods and taking some superb scores.
Best on the day were in defence Kieran Cunningham, Philip Butler and Ryan Elliot while upfront Paul Walsh and Clive Mills stood out.
Final score TCG 3-10, Dulwich Gaels 1-10
Last Saturday the ladies of Tir Chonaill Gaels made their own bit of history by representing the club for the first time in the London junior league.
Playing against season campaigners Tara, the girls give their all before going down by a score line of 2-7 to 0-6. All at the club are proud of their performance and it won’t be long before they get into winning ways. It was a great team effort with a special mention for Ciara Rice, Susanna Gill, Mary Flaherty and Shannon Williamson.
