Club Notes - 3rd December

Reserves

The Reserve team completed the double for the second season running with a 1-9 to 0-6 win over the Round Towers at Mitcham on Sunday 2nd December. Credit to both teams on fielding sides so late on in the year and to all the support the lads got on the day from the loyal supporters.

Again it was the combination of youth and experience that makes this team work so well with Barry Mc Donagh, Brian Corry, JP O’Donnell and Doris Carr providing the experience.

The stars of the future being Goalkeeper Kieran Nash, Kevin Mc Fadden, Aaron Somers, Ricky Williamson and Jerome Lawson.

After the game an emotional manager Paul Coggins paid tribute to the team especially the younger lads who showed maturity beyond their years.

He did make an appearance in the final minutes were his attempted shot on goal went wide enough, that it took in two townlands.

Conway Cup final.

On Saturday the Senior team play their final match of the domestic season with the Conway cup final against old foes Saint Brendans.

It has been another super season for the club especially the Seniors who look to complete the clean sweep against a team we have played in countless finals.

Throw-in is at 2pm in Ruislip and the club ask all members to give their support.

Under 21

The under 21 team take on Saint Kiernans in the Championship final on Sunday at Greenford with a 1-30pm throw-in.

The lads are going for three in a row in this competition and will by no means get it easy against a club like the Kiernans who have a fine record at underage.

Again the club welcome all support as we try to finish the season off in style.

All-Ireland Quarter Final.

The date has been confirmed for the All-Ireland club quarter final were we face the reigning champions Crossmaglen Rangers in Ruislip on 27th January.

The club Xmas party is on Thursday 20th December, also in the clubhouse.
