Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 23rd April 2012

Seniors:
Last Sunday the senior team completed their final group game of the Tipperary cup with a comprehensive win over the Parnells at Ruislip.
The game started off lively with both teams showing fighting spirit and restricting each other to few scoring chances. Benny O’Reilly and John Mc Grath were always showing well and when given the space they punished their markers with some excellent scores.
Parnells had good scoring chances in front of goal but Brian Mc Brearty and the defence were their equal with some stubborn defending.
The introduction of Micheal Traynor for the third time in the second half seen him scoring for fun with an impressive 1-2, Ciaran Boyle gave another hard working performance with solid games from Niall Travers and Brian Ross in Defence.
Final score TCG 2-14, Parnells 1-5:

Juniors:
The junior team qualified for the semi finals of the Mc Cardle cup last Sunday against Eir Og from Oxford with an impressive 0-15 to 0-1 victory.
The young guns are starting to flex the muscles as the season warms up with Frankie “Boom Boom” Kenny selling more dummies to defenders than Boots!
Patrick O’Connor, Tommy Moriarty, Aidan Mc Garvey and Frankie all put up good performances but will all need to up the ante for the semis.
