Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 30th April 2012

Seniors:
Mitcham was the venue last Sunday as the senior team started their league campaign against Round Towers. Credit to the Towers on having the pitch playable after the week’s heavy rainfall. Another solid team performance from the lads seen us pick up the maximum with the defence keeping the Towers down to two points.
Best on the day were David Mc Greevy and Marty Mc Coy in defence, Mr Reliable, Ciaran Boyle in midfield with John Mc Grath and Micheal Traynor starring up front.
Round Towers 0-3, TCG 0-11: J Mc Grath 0-4, M Traynor 0-3, Eoin Magaeen 0-2, M McCoy and C Hands 0-1 each. (See website for report)

Reserves:
The stiffs got their season underway on the same venue with Michael Mullan taking charge of his first game. A strong team was fielded with a lot of new signings getting their chance to get sixty minutes. The Madine brothers Ronan and Mark,
Brendan “Breaker” Friel, Alan Hanna and Vivian “Big Guns” Browne all stood out, with Vivian scoring three points from midfield. Round Towers 0-3 TCG 4-19.
(See website for report)
