Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes 6th June 2012
Last weekend the club hosted our good friends from Killybegs in both Mens and Ladies matches at Tir Chonaill Park.
It was a great all round weekend meeting old friends and making new ones, our ladies team put on a great display against the visitors to come away with a victory.
The mens teams competed for the Andy Duffy cup and this was a much tighter affair with the Gaels holding on for a narrow victory.
Our longest serving player Gavin Mc Evoy received the Cup on behalf of the club which is our second piece of silverware after winning the sevens.
Finally a massive thank you to Niall Erskine and his fellow officers for organizing the trip and making the day a very memorable one.
The 35 year famine continued last Sunday for the London footballers against Leitrim in the Connaught championship at a rainy Ruislip.
London put up a mighty fight and were very unlucky not to come away with the victory, credit to all involved especially those from the club, Dave Mc Greevy, Peter Sherry, Mark Gottshe, Eoin O'Neill, Ciaran Bonner, Kevin Downes and Paul Coggins.
