Tir Chonaill Gaels Youth Notes - 2nd July 2012

Well done to the team who took part in the Blitz at Goodmayes on Saturday.  Of the six games played there was one draw and two wins.  Thanks to Joel and Hugo for accompanying the children and all the parents who helped out.  We would encourage as many parents as possible to attend/support  blitzes as it gives the children valuable game experience.
Training on Wed and Friday this week.
The TCG U 14s played St Kierans in league game last Friday. Having lost the toss TCG were playing against the wind. However hard work and determination saw a great start with a goal from Harry Donovan which was followed up with a point from Sean Rice. At half time it was TCG 2.3 to 0.5.  After the break the boys were really fired up with a similar start as in the first half - again scoring a goal and point.  However St Kierans came back strong with some good scores  to within 2 points. TCG showed what they are capable of and pulled away scoring another  3 -3, to make the final score 7 -7 to 3 - 6 after 60 mins.
Best for TCG: R Callaghan, C Keeney, D McHugh, T Regan, C McFadden, D Faye, T Faye, K O Shea, D Doyle (cap) C McCarthy, A Johnston, J Holland, Ayo Bambokyie, K MacMammonon, D O Connor, H O Donovan, C Callaghan, S Rice.
Training as usual on Wed and Friday.
Next fixture: Sunday 8 July - away against North London Shamrocks in semi final of Shield.
