Tir Chonaill Gaels Youth Notes - 16th July 2012
Training - Nursery / U8 / U10 / U12
Training for the above age groups has now finished for the summer break and will resume in September. TCG would like to wish all its players and families a restful summer holiday.
A busy week for the U14s, last Wed saw them play North London Shamrocks in the Shield semi-final. Despite the weather TCG got off to a good start with scores from Sean Rice, whilst Harry O Donovan made some great saves at the other end. Half time saw TCG leading by 2 points. Coming back after the break TCG, showing a fantastic team spirit, were really determined to win. NLS made some good scores but the game finished with the final score in TCG's favour 4-7 to NLS 2-3.
A squad of 22 made the journey to Mitcham on a very damp Saturday for the League semi final and final. Our opposition for the first game was Dulwich with the half time score 1-4 to 4pts. Some brilliant play saw TCG take the lead by 3 pts but Dulwich got a lucky goal followed by a quick point, leaving them the eventual winners at full time. Round Towers were up next and TCG were narrowly pipped at the post with Round Towers winning with a 2 point lead over TCG. Thank you to all the players for their dedication in playing on what was a miserably wet day.
