Minor Board Presentation Night
On the 30th November the Minor Board held a very successful presentation night and with well over 200 people in attendance it shows the popularity of the Gaels Minor Board.
First up were the nursery group and the little ones had their medals presented by Kevin McFadden who along with Sean McHugh had a weekly training attendance of over 40 well done to them all.
Next were the U10’s and manager Declan Flanagan spoke about what a good year the children had especially with the introduction of the new Go Games structure Thank You to Declan and Pat Gavanan for their hard work.
Then the U12’s were as always eager to take the stage and Manager Phillip Butler presented them with their medals, the year saw a very strong attendance with many tournaments seeing the Gaels entering 2 teams in this age group thanks to Phillip and Rick for their commitment.
The U14’s were presented with sweatshirts sponsored by Morrisroe Contractors thanks to them for their kind donation and for Sean Flanagan for organising the sponsorship. Noel Geraghty was more than happy with how the U14’s performed this year he said they had given their all. Thanks to Noel, Vince Keating & Michael Cunningham for helping them out this year.
The U16’s were next in line and went proudly up to collect both their Championship, and Gt British Championship medals. Rick Williamson spoke about the successful trip to Cork where the lads took part in two matches, winning them both. Thank you to their sponsors Aiden Kavanagh of Harrier Waste Services and also to James McFadden for assisting Rick this year.
Last but by no means least were the Minors who received huge acclaim from manager James McFadden for what was also a great year, he thanked the lads who represented London in Chicago; Kevin McFadden, Stefan Carr, Kyle Hogan, Ricky Williamson, Jerome Lawson, John Geraghty and Aaron Somers. He wished the lads the best of luck in Philadelphia next year as many of them are eligible to play again.
Thank You to all the backroom staff, parents, supporters, club staff and senior board whom without the minor board would not be as successful as it is.
