15 October 2012
Tir Chonaill Gaels 1-15
Kingdom Kerry Gaels 1-8
Tir Chonaill Gaels marked their 50th anniversary with a 14th London SFC title win at Kingdom Kerry Gaels' expense at Ruislip.
The Greenford-based club were always in control against a Kingdom Kerry Gaels team that played the entire second half with 14 men after Kevin Waldron was sent off on a straight red card on the stroke of half-time. The winners had established a 0-5 to 0-1 lead before Kevin McMenamin netted in the 18th minute to put them firmly in the driving seat.
Tir Chonaill Gaels went on to lead by 1-6 to 0-2 at the break and wrapped up the victory by scoring eight unanswered points on the restart.
The 14 men scored 1-5 without reply in the closing stages, with Peter Atkinson accounting for the goal, but they left themselves with too much to do.
