Club Notes - 21st May 2007

Seniors

The Senior team played in the latest round of the Tipperary Cup last Saturday against Fulham Irish at Greenford. Although missing a large number of players the gaels still managed to field a reasonable team with a lot of the underage players getting their chance, notably 16 year old Aaron Somers playing at corner back.

Fergus McMahon made his debut at full forward playing alongside 18 year olds Tommy Moriarty and Chris Maroney who got the Gaels goal.

There was never much between the two sides with both squandering easy chances and the game finishing a fair draw 1-4 each.

Championship Draw

The Draw for the Championship was made last Sunday with the Gaels drawing out Saint Clarets, to be played the weekend 9/10th June and if successful playing Saint Brendans in the next round, weekend of 22/23rd June.

London Junior Team

Well done to Billy O’Mahony, Niall Spain, Fergus McMahon, Tommy Moriarty, Chris Maroney, Connor Burke and JP O’Donnell who were part of the successful London Junior team who defeated Warwickshire last week in the Provincial semi final played at Greenford.

Race Night

The rescheduled race night will take place now on Friday 29th June at the Clubhouse.

Sponsored Walk

There is a sponsored walk taking place this Friday Evening 7.30pm at Tir Chonaill Park to raise funds for the underage teams. All participants are asked to wear their county jerseys and return sponsor forms and money to Karen Williamson.
