TCG say no to winter games

28 March 2013
Tir Chonaill Gaels chairman Tom Mohan has stressed that clubs will not agree to play championship games in February next year.

Due to a new rule introduced, a player must play a championship match before lining out for said county team, a move which has caused havoc in the London championships.

Already this year, championship games have been played in both codes during February in order to facilitate new players arriving in the English capital.

But, Mohan feels that there will have to be a change next year as club will not agree to the same format.

"Clubs won't accept it in 2014," Mohan fumed to the Irish Post. "No way will clubs agree to championship in February next year."
