Club Notes - 28th January

We give it all, but it wasn’t to be, on Sunday the Gaels went down by a score line of 0-10 to 0-6 against a more streetwise Crossmaglen rangers.

In front of a large crowd at Ruislip we battled against the best and came short yet again, but we can hold our heads high as we made them battle to the end.

It was a great team effort all round with goalkeeper Brian Mc Brearty pulling off some stunning saves, in defence, Ronan Walsh done a good marking job on Oisin Mc Conville with good support from Hugh Cunningham.

Up front Darragh Kinneavy and Fergus Mc Mahon caused problems for the visitors.

The club would like to thank all the support and best wishes we received on the day and throughout the week from other clubs.

Now it’s back to the bread and butter as we start to prepare for a new season with some players moving on and hopefully some new one’s joining up.

It was good to see so many ex players make the journey over for the game on Sunday, people like Gerry Boyle, Barry Bradley, Jim O’Neill, Michael Donohue, Michael Carr, Pat Doohar, Hugh Daly, Dermot Boyle, Fergal Hoban, Tommy Mc Fadden, Frank Glynn, Paul Hegarty and Stephen Campbell to name a few.
