Gottsche to miss Connacht final

London's mark Gottsche has been ruled out of the Connacht SFC final against Mayo.

The former Galway footballer missed last weekend's thrilling semi-final replay win over Leitrim with a foot injury and has now been told that he requires surgery.

The Exiles midfielder is due to go under the knife on Thursday of this week and won't be back in action for London's July 21st decider date with defending provincial champions Mayo.

However, the 25-year-old hasn't ruled himself out of playing some part in the remainder of London's summer campaign (as Connacht finalists, they are guaranteed at least a place in the fourth round of the Qualifiers):

"There could be an outside chance that I might be ready for the game after the Connacht final," he tells The Irish Daily Star.

"But it is hard to know until I start into the rehab.
