GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT - THIS FRIDAY!

The attempt to break the Guinness World Record -‘Most players
in a Gaelic football exhibition match’ -  will take place this Friday
evening, 26th July 2013, at Tir Chonaill Gaels grounds, Greenford.  It has been
organised  by the Irish in Britain in conjunction with the G.A.A and is
being attempted against the backdrop of the GAA's All Britain
Competition.

The current record for the most players in a Gaelic football exhibition
match is 399 organized by Whitehall Colmcille GAA Club (Ireland) in
Dublin, Ireland, on 22 May 2011. Participants ranged in age from the
club's under-8 members to its senior players.

To break the record an excess of 500 participants are required for a
total of 15 minutes each with 5 minutes of that as actual playing time,
and the extra time to roll on and off and record their details for the
record in the log book.

•       The game would still be played as a 15 a side game, with players
rolling on and off at 5 minute intervals.

•       Aims to include as many participants as possible, regardless of age
or ability-and encourage families attending to take part.

Irishtv.ie will also be involved and basically there is a chance to
break a record that will demonstrate the rich vitality of the Irish and
their culture abroad.  Therefore please forward the details to as many
people as you can as this opportunity may not happen again.
