Club Notes - 4th February 2008

Minor Board AGM

The Minor board held their AGM last Saturday in the club with the following officers elected.

President; Tom O’Connor

Chairperson; Karen Williamson

Vice Chairman; Sean Mc Hugh

Secretary; Mary Coll

Asst Secretary; Breda McGarvey

Treasurer; Jacquie Boylan

Asst Treasurer; James Mc Fadden

Registration Officer; Noel Geraghty

PRO; Kevin Mc Fadden & Karen Williamson

Youth Officer; Rick Williamson

County Board Delegates; Noel Geraghty, Michael Cunningham, Philip Butler & Jacquie Boylan.

Well done to Karen Williamson on taking on the Chairperson Positition after Seamus Carr stepped down after a year at the helm.

Seamus was quoted at saying “that he could not bring the club on any further after slogging his guts out for the year and that he felt it was best to step aside and leave the post to someone younger in the club” well Seamus that would not be hard as after all you are the oldest person in the club!

It is also refreshing to see up and coming Minor star Kevin Mc Fadden getting involved in the committee as PRO and hopefully take the workload off the current one.

Deepest Sympathy

The club would like to pass on their condolences to members who have lost loved ones in the past week.

Club member Jim Mc Keown lost his brother Thomas back in Armagh in January.

Former players Paddy Tinnelly and Pat Bierne both lost a parent last week, Val Bierne, father of Pat was laid to rest in Castlerea, Co Roscommon while Paddy’s mother passed away at her home in Rostrever, Co Down.

Our thoughts are with the families at this difficult time.

Paddy McConighley

All at the club are thrilled to hear that former player Paddy Mc Conighley is back training with the Donegal Senior team after losing the sight of an eye last year.

Typical of Paddy’s bravery and we all wish him well in his comeback.

The senior board AGM will be held in the clubhouse on Sunday 17th February at 3pm
