Coggins shows players how it's done

08 November 2013

London manager Paul Coggins and the successful Tir Chonaill Gaels Reserves
London manager Paul Coggins has revealed he won't be picking himself for the county team; having made a winning contribution in a club final.

Coggins came on as a substitute for Tir Chonaill Gaels as they defeated Parnells by 1-16 to 2-08 after extra time in the reserve championship final that was played at a very slow pace.

The London manager just went to the game to cheer on TCG, but with very few subs available, the Roscommon native was called upon to enter the fray.Although he enjoyed donning his boots again, he stressed to the Irish Post that it was a one-off.

"Maurice (Carr) was out of breath and most players were out on their feet when I came on, so the game suited my style of play, nice and slow," laughed Coggins.

"I can't remember when I played last, but I felt it the next day. Put me down as a youthful over 40. I managed to walk through extra time, but I did enjoy it but don't worry, I won't be picking myself for the London squad." -
