Club Notes - 18th February 2008

AGM

A well attended AGM was held last Sunday in the clubhouse with the following officers elected to the committee for 2008.

President: Michael Mc Glynn.

Vice Presidents: Mick Mc Grath, Pam Mc Govern, Patsy Mc Govern, Eddie Mc Ginty, James Callaghan and Tom O’Connor.

Chairman: Tom Mohan.

Vice Chairman: Maurice Carr.

Secretary: Stephen Mc Loughlin.

Asst Secretary: Seamus Harley.

Treasurer: Peter Mooney.

Asst Treasurer: Dennis Boyle.

PRO: Stevie Keane.

Asst PRO: Brian Mc Brearty.

Development Officer: Paddy Burke.

County Board Delegates: Seamus Carr, Martin Hennessy.

Youth Officer: Ricky Williamson.

Club Photographer: Brendan Vaughan.

Facilities Development: Seamus Carr, Niall Erskine, Tom Mohan.

Grounds Manager: JP O’Donnell.

Social Committee: Ronan Walsh, Adrian Byrne, Paddy Callaghan, Brian Mc Brearty, Seamus Harley, Declan Meehan, Tommy Moriarty.

Senior Manager: Paul Coggins.

Director of Football: Paddy Carr. 

The new committee will have busy year ahead starting off with the Easter sevens on Saturday 22nd March, then the Grand draw in May followed by the 25th Anniversary Dinner in the Crown hotel in November to celebrate our first senior championship to name but a few.

With so many new faces on the social committee, this year promises to be as busy off the pitch as it will be on it with Brendan (sweet face) Vaughan catching all the action on camera!

Club stalwart Seamus Carr will be getting a break from this column for the time being, as long as he keeps in check! 

Racing Day Out

The club are having a day out racing at the Cheltenham festival on Tuesday 11th March.

This event has been going now for a long number of years with it being one of the clubs most enjoyable outings.

Bookings can be made from Adrian at the club on 0208 8643494. 

Presentation Night

There will be a presentation night at the club on Saturday 26th April to celebrate the senior, reserve and under 21 team’s achievements for 2007.

Tickets can be obtained from the clubhouse. 

Grand Draw

Tickets for our Grand draw with a car being the star prize can be purchased from any club member or , priced at £20 each. 

Best Wishes

Finally the club give their best wishes to Maurice Carr who has stepped down from his position as senior manager after a long number of years at the helm.

Maurice will still be very much involved in club affairs in his vice chairman role, but plans to take things easy in the coming months, skiing, roller blading and generally reliving his youth!
