Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 28th April 2014
Last Sunday the senior team completed their final championship seeding match at Ruislip with victory over Fulham Irish.
Playing against a stiff breeze in the opening half the lads held their own with a few goal opportunities going a miss. The 2nd half saw us up the ante with a couple of early goals from Liam Gavaghan and Cathal Magee to settle the nerves, but shortly after Johnny Mc Nicholas saw red which left us with 14 men for the remaining eighteen minutes.
The management made good use of a strong bench and freshened things up with five introductions including Luke Kavanagh who scored a third goal after burning off a number of men on route.
It was a decent performance so early in the season with special mention for Philip Butler and Brendan McAtarnsay who excelled in defence, Strong running from Mark Gottsche in midfield with Liam Gavaghan up front showing he will be heavily involved this year’s senior championship. Final score TCG 3-10 Fulham Irish 0-7
The junior team return to action this Sunday 4th May were they play in the McArdle cup final against Moindearg at Ruislip.
