Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes: 12th May 2014
The senior team started their league campaign last Saturday against Round Towers at a wet and windy Ruislip.
Due to the conditions the game was a low scoring affair with both defences coping better than the forwards with the elements.
The Gaels went on to win the game by 0-10 to 0-3 with Declan Traynor in goals, Philip Butler in defence and Aaron Bradley in midfield performing best.
Our junior team played Eir Og in their opening league game at Greenford on Sunday.
A Ryan Kearney goal in the first half gave us the edge but the 2nd half saw Eir Og put us under some pressure but we managed on hold on.
Their were good displays by Stephen Ruddy, Patrick Flynn and Killian Butler with solid performances from debutants Kieran Clarke and Kevin Browne.
Final score TCG 1-9, Eir Og 1-5.
This Sunday 18th the junior team has a league match against Saint Clarets at Greenford with a 4-30pm throw-in.
