Tír Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 15th June 2015
The seniors were beaten by St Kiernans on Saturday evening. The boys put in a solid first half performance but two goals in quick succession on the turn of the half gave the Kiernans a six point lead which was clawed back to two points at full time.
Next up is Neasdan on Thursday 25th in the Conway cup with a 7.30pm throw in at Greenford.
The juniors played Shalloe Pearses on Saturday evening in Greenford. Despite a mixed performance the boys went in at half time a point up. Unfortunately the game had to be called off due to a serious knee injury to the Pearses player/manager who was unable to be lifted off the field for some time. We wish him a speedy recovery.
The boys make the annual trip to Coventry for the Ann Boyle memorial cup at the invitation of Rodger Casements.
The ladies are to compete in the county final in the coming weeks, date and throw in to be confirmed. Please come out and support the girls in which will be an historic day for the club.
Congratulations to senior player John McGrath who won the jackpot of £2,500 last Thursday. John has been a member for the last few years. The club wish to acknowledge and thank John for very kindly donating £500 of his winnings back into the club.

Following the presentations Conor Conneely had the tough task of matchmaking....despite some bad singing of Sean 'Showtime' Gaffney, Liam Cunningham kindly displaying his tattoo collection, Conor had a 100% record at the end of the evening in securing dates for all the boys and girls.
