Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes - 29th June 2015

The seniors overcame Neasdan last Thursday evening in Greenford by two points in the Conway Cup after a tight tussle. In a game packed with incidents, there were several sending offs for both teams. Next up for the seniors is the Conway cup semi-final this Tuesday 30th June at 7.30pm in Ruislip.

The juniors beat McCurtains on Sunday evening in Ruislip to advance to the semi-final. They went into the break at half-time a goal up against the breeze. McCurtains leveled matters ten minutes into the 2nd half but the Gaels showed great character to pull away for a convincing win. Good performances for Killian Butler, Aidan McGarvey, Gavin McEvoy and Tommy Moriarty.Next up is St. Clarets on Sunday 5th July in Greenford at 1.30pm.

Our ladies went down in the final of the junior championship on Sunday morning. After a poor first half performance the ladies were 3-10 to 1-0 behind. The team scored two goals and a couple of points early in the second half to rattle the McCurtains. Both teams then traded goals before McCuratins killed the game with their final goal. It was a spirited fightback from the girls who will be left to rue their first half performance. With the ladies club finding its feet, we hope they can push on next year and well done to all involved for a successful season.
