Club Notes - 21st April 2008

Senior.

The senior team had to battle right to the very end in their Tipperary Cup encounter with Saint Brendans at Ruislip on Sunday.

Although playing with an inexperienced team, the young Gaels showed their battling qualities to withstand a late St Brendans fight back to win by a score line of 1-13 to  2-6.

Brian Mc Brearty made some stunning saves in goal; Stephen Boyle had a solid game at centre back, while Stephen Owens worked hard in the middle of the park. Up front Andy Gallagher is getting back to his top form with a goal and three points with good support from JP Boyle and debutant Paddy Tanny from Tyrone.

Next up is Round One of the Senior League were we lock horns with the Tara on Saturday at Ruislip with a 3-30pm throw-in.

London.

Well done to all of the Gaels lads who played their part in Londonís narrow defeat to Clare in the National League game at Ruislip on Sunday.

Brian Mc Brearty, Niall Spain, Gary Kane, Fergus Mc Mahon and Francis Cleary gave their all, before going down by a score line of 2-13 to 1-12.

Special mention for defender Niall Spain who some how managed to get up the pitch and score a rare goal, which we will probably never hear another word about it!
